World Cleanup Day team began to form in December 2011 in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2012 "Let's clean our country in one day!" campaign united more than 50,000 citizens to clean up illegally dumped waste in across the country. By 2020 the national cleanup initiative has established itself as one of key driving forces to mobilise civil society on environmental issues.[2]
